About the Congress:
Energy is undoubtedly among the most important agenda items of countries, from growth targets to climate change programs, from foreign trade volumes to security policies. For the Turkic world—which is moving beyond being just an intergovernmental cooperation council towards becoming an international union—and for independent Turkic states (which hold great potential in resources such as oil, natural gas, and uranium), energy is the most important leverage and key for related integration processes.
Within this vision and observation, TESPAM has carried out various works. Among these, in addition to databases, publications, and long-term projections, the "TURKISH ENERGY UNION CONGRESS," first organized in March 2021, stands out as a notable initiative of the Turkish Energy Union Research Center (TEBAM), established under TESPAM.
The first "TURKISH ENERGY UNION CONGRESS," which is considered the first of its kind in the literature, was successfully implemented between March 29–31, 2021, under the leadership of TESPAM and in partnership with Ahmet Yesevi University. During the congress, which discussed all opportunities and possibilities regarding energy resources, general sectoral dynamics, renewable energy potentials, integration of energy technologies, investment opportunities, fundamental problems in cooperation, and roadmap proposals, many academics, thought leaders, and opinion leaders from 20 different countries participated. More than 200 papers were accepted, and over 40 sessions were held, where the "Turkish Energy Union" approach was evaluated in all its dimensions over three days.
The second "TURKISH ENERGY UNION CONGRESS" was organized between March 28–30, 2022 by TESPAM and TDPV (Turkic World Parliamentary Foundation).
With its new format aimed at triggering more concrete cooperation processes, the TEBK program included:
– In the first two days: comprehensive analysis of energy integration, opportunities, current status, technical and technological capabilities, reserves, and economic, legal, and financial infrastructure.
– On the 3rd day: energy-related companies from all Turkic countries that registered in the system were brought together in special B2B meetings.
Through TEBK, the past and present of energy in the Turkic world were defined, its future was planned, and integration processes among the business world were strengthened with concrete steps, from academic, technical, technological, economic, financial, legal, logistical, political, security, and social perspectives.
In addition, the congress included special sessions organized with the aim of supporting our country's foreign policy, as well as online databases on human resources, companies/institutions, investment opportunities, projects, energy resources and facilities, and financial opportunities/funds, providing a much more professional basis for cooperation processes.
