For International Students Seeking To Be Exempted From Studying At The English Preparatory School
- Applicants who want to be exempted from studying at the English Preparatory School may fall within one of the three categories below.
- * Students who have already studied and successfully completed the English Preparatory School at another university in Turkey.
- * Students who have taken the TOEFL IBT Test and achieved a score of 79 and above.
- Note: The TOEFL Home Edition is NOT recognized/accepted by the English Preparatory School of Istanbul Aydın University. Only scores of applicants who took the TOEFL IBT Test at an approved TOEFL IBT Test Center.
- *Students who have taken YDS (Yabancı Dil Sınavı) exam and achieved a score of 80 and above.
Required Documents/Proof From Students Who Already Completed Prep. School
- a. Students who have already studied and successfully completed the English Preparatory School at another university in Turkey are required to present an official document/paper from the university that clearly states/indicates that the applicant successfully completed the English Preparatory School of the university. This document MUST be the original copy (not photocopied or sent via mail.
- b. A student Card issued by Istanbul Aydın University.
- c. A photocopied page of the data page of applicant's passport.
Required Documents/Proof From Students Presenting a TOEFL IBT Score
- a. Students who have taken the TOEFL IBT Test and achieved a score of 79 and above are required to provide a PRINTED COPY of their TOEFL IBT Score.
- Applicants must CLEARLY indicate their ETS profile sign in details (Username & Password) at the back of the PRINTED COPY of their TOEFL IBT score.
- b. A student Card issued by Istanbul Aydın University.
- c. A photocopied page of the data page of applicant's passport.
Required Documents/Proof From Students Presenting a TOEFL IBT Score
- Students who have taken YDS (Yabancı Dil Sınavı) exam and achieved a score of 80 and above MUST present/provide the same documents mention for TOEFL IBT mentioned above. Original Copies are required.

About Level Placement & Exemption Exam

FORMATS
This section has been prepared to provide details about the Placement and Exemption Exams for all prospective International Students applying to Istanbul Aydın University. All prospective students are requested to read the content thoroughly and carefully.
Methods of Administration
There are two groups of applicants
International Students (Non-Turkish Students) who are ALREADY residing in Turkey during the time of application/registration to Istanbul Aydın University
Applicants are required to take the exam at the designated exam hall within the premises of Istanbul Aydın Universityi in Florya). Applicants MUST take the exam "face to face". In other words, applicants are required to be physically present at the exam hall.
Necessary Documents
Applicants are required to present their Student Card to the Exam Hall Administrator (Proctor). In Addition, applicants are required to provide their Acceptance Letter issued by Istanbul Aydın University.
Important:
There is a listening section in the exam, hence, applicants are expected to come to the Test Center with an ear-piece (headset/earphone). For health reasons (prevention of transmissible diseases), this precautionary measure is important.
- Students who come to take the exam at the Test Center are required to present/show their Student Card, Passport and/or Admission Letter to the proctor.
- Our Level Placement and & Proficiency Exams are Computer Based. This means, test takers sit at a computer and answer the questions.

Location of Exam Halls / Exam Center
All Face to Face exams will be administered in D-Block, Ground Floor, at one of the Computer Labs. There will be "Exam Floor Coordinators" who will guide applicants accordingly. The exam is available between 09.00 – 16.30. Students can come anytime within these hours to take the exam. Students who come after 16.30 will not be allowed into the exam hall.
