Program Overview

The Yacht Master Program is a two-year (four-semester) associate degree program that aims to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fields of navigation, seamanship, maritime safety and security, maritime communication, maritime law and yacht management. The program is built upon a curriculum designed in accordance with current maritime legislation and the needs of the sector.

Students gain competency in areas such as chartwork and coastal navigation, electronic navigation systems, boat handling and manoeuvring, the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG) and watchkeeping standards, maritime safety, meteorology, engine–electrical and technical knowledge, and maritime law. Practical courses are supported by the navigation laboratory, the bridge and GMDSS simulator, the training vessel, and workplace vocational training (sea internship).
