History

The Faculty of Health Sciences was established under the Rectorate by the Council of Ministers’ Decision, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Türkiye, dated 10.09.2012. The Faculty of Health Sciences of Istanbul Aydın University has been admitting students since 2013. The Departments of Audiology, Health Management, and Nursing began their educational activities with their first cohort of students in 2013, followed by the Departments of Social Work and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in 2015. The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics commenced its educational activities in 2016. With newly established undergraduate and graduate programs taught in Turkish each year, the faculty ranks among the fastest-growing higher education institutions in Turkey. In the 2025–2026 academic year, with the launch of the English-medium Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Nutrition and Dietetics programs, our faculty is taking confident steps toward becoming a prominent higher education institution for international students from diverse regions of the globe. Under the auspices of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Istanbul Aydın University, ten departments—namely Nutrition and Dietetics, Nutrition and Dietetics (English), Child Development, Midwifery, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (English), Nursing, Audiology, Health Management, and Social Work—are dedicated to training future health professionals and globally minded citizens.​
