Infrastructure & Facilities

Specific to the International Trade and Finance (English) Undergraduate Program does not have its own dedicated, fixed classrooms. At Istanbul Aydin University (IAU), for all course schedules, classrooms are explicitly assigned at the beginning of each semester by the IAU Planning Unit. For each program, classrooms of suitable size are planned and allocated according to the number of student registrations. This centralized planning approach ensures that classroom allocation is not personal or random but is based on objective criteria such as enrollment numbers, the nature of the course, and pedagogical needs. This approach ensures the university's existing physical facilities are used in the most efficient way to support the teaching and learning process where and when needed. All classrooms in the university are equipped with modern educational technology. In this context:

Each classroom is equipped with internet-connected touch-screen computers called "smart podiums" featuring smart board capabilities, integrated speaker systems, and high-resolution projectors. This technological infrastructure allows faculty members to present course materials effectively in a digital format, enrich the learning experience with multimedia applications, and support hybrid teaching practices through online connections. When a classroom is assigned to an instructor, the system automatically synchronizes; thus, instructors can connect their mobile devices to the smart podium system and use their phones as wireless pointers. This feature enables remote control of presentations, navigating slides forward and backward, and maintaining uninterrupted lecture flow.
All smart podiums in the classrooms operate integrated with the Smart Board Application. Instructors can write by hand on this system and digitally support their lectures. At the end of each class, upon the instructor's request, the content created on the smart board can be automatically converted into lecture note format and delivered to students. Furthermore, when content is uploaded to the student information system, the relevant course information is automatically added to the PDF file. This technological infrastructure enhances students' practice-based learning and digital tool usage skills, directly supporting the program's analytical and digital competency goals.
Classrooms are physically conditioned spaces, with the majority receiving natural light.
Furniture, including student desks, is ergonomically designed to support both individual work and group activities.
The smart podiums in the classrooms are synchronized with the personal spaces on the computers in the instructors' offices, providing access to teaching materials without the need for portable storage devices; however, instructors can also use external storage if they wish. Attendance procedures can be conducted manually from the podiums, or automatically via card readers on classroom doors or by scanning student cards on the podium's digital screen.
These features facilitate the support of theoretical topics with audiovisual materials, allow faculty members to effectively present topics by displaying their presentations and digital content, and enable students to learn in a technologically supported environment.

The Istanbul Aydin University Library / Information Center offers comprehensive printed and electronic information resources in the fields of economics, finance, accounting, law, business, logistics, and statistics to support the academic development of International Trade and Finance (English) Program students. Students have access to books, academic journals, e-books, academic articles, databases, and sectoral reports both on and off campus, with information access provided independently of time and space constraints.

The general procedures and principles for using library services, user terms and conditions, and regulations regarding service provision are determined within the scope of the Istanbul Aydin University Library Directive. Additionally, the rules for maintaining order and the working environment in the Information Center, along with the sanctions to be applied in case of violations of these rules, are stipulated in the "Istanbul Aydin University Procedures, Principles for Utilizing the Information Center and Sanctions to be Applied to Those Who Violate These Principles Directive." When both directives are considered together, they guarantee that students benefit from library services equally, safely, orderly, and sustainably. Furthermore, the list of IAU Databases and IAU Open Access Databases are provided in the appendices section for informational purposes.

The library collections include international databases such as EBSCOhost, ProQuest, JSTOR, Emerald, ScienceDirect, OECD iLibrary, and Statista. All resources are accessible 24/7 via katalog.aydin.edu.tr . This system creates a continuously updated digital learning environment for both students and faculty. Faculty members utilize these databases to integrate current academic publications into their course content; thus, the examples and applications used in courses are supported by international literature.

Within our university, there are physical and technical infrastructures designed to support practice-oriented education. Structured classrooms dedicated to financial market applications, along with computer-assisted learning environments, are available. The Stock Exchange Application and Simulation Laboratory (BISTLAB) is an integral part of the university’s infrastructure.
