The Department of International Trade and Finance (English) conducts its educational, research, and community service activities in line with a participatory, transparent, and continuous improvement–oriented approach. Within this framework, the opinions and contributions of students, graduates, academic and administrative staff, and external stakeholders are systematically integrated into the Department’s decision-making and development processes.
Student Representation
In order to ensure the active participation of students in governance, a Student Representation Mechanism has been established within the Department.
Student representatives are selected from among departmental students in accordance with established procedures.
They are invited to meetings of the Department Board and relevant committees to convey students’ views and suggestions on academic, administrative, and social matters.
Requests and recommendations communicated through student representatives are evaluated by the Department administration, and appropriate improvement actions are implemented.
Through this structure, students are positioned not only as participants in educational processes but also as key stakeholders contributing to the continuous development of the Department.
Feedback Mechanisms
Feedback within the Department is collected and monitored through a systematic and multi-channel structure. In this context, the following tools are implemented on a regular basis:
• Course (instructor) and academic advisor evaluation surveys,
• Mentor–mentee activities,
• Program learning outcomes and program competencies evaluation surveys,
• Academic observer surveys (conducted each semester),
• Student satisfaction and expectations surveys,
• Graduate feedback and employment tracking studies,
• External stakeholder (industry representatives, employers) feedback and opinions.
The data obtained are analyzed by the Department’s academic boards and quality commissions. Based on the analysis results, necessary updates are made to course contents, teaching methods, and the overall program structure.
Participation Channels
Various participation channels are available through which departmental stakeholders can communicate their opinions, suggestions, and requests:
• Departmental e-mail addresses and institutional communication channels,
• Academic advising meetings,
• Academic observer evaluation forms,
• Department meetings, workshops, and information sessions,
• Panels and focus group meetings conducted with graduates and industry representatives.
All feedback submitted through these channels is formally recorded, evaluated, and the outcomes are shared with the relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement Approach
The data obtained through student representation, feedback mechanisms, and participation channels contribute directly to the enhancement of the Department’s academic and administrative quality. In line with this approach, the Department adopts the principle of sustaining its development through strong and effective engagement with its stakeholders.
