Infrastructure & Facilities

The classroom planning of the Aviation Management program at Istanbul Aydın University is centrally carried out by the IAU Planning Unit at the beginning of each academic term. Classrooms are allocated and planned in appropriate sizes by considering student enrollment numbers, course content, and pedagogical requirements. This centralized planning approach ensures that classroom usage is not personal or random but is conducted according to objective, transparent, and efficient criteria. Classrooms consist of physical spaces equipped with central ventilation systems, largely benefiting from natural daylight and furnished with ergonomic furniture. Student desks are designed to support both individual work and group work as well as simulation-based learning activities.

All classrooms used in the Aviation Management program at the university are equipped with modern educational technologies. Each classroom includes smart lecterns with internet-connected touch-screen computers, integrated speaker systems, and high-resolution projectors. This infrastructure enables instructors to effectively present digital course materials, utilize multimedia applications, and support hybrid teaching models. In addition, the necessary software and hardware infrastructure for simulation applications is available in the classrooms.

When classrooms are assigned to instructors, the system is automatically synchronized; instructors can connect their mobile devices to the smart lectern system and deliver wireless presentations. Smart lecterns and digital board systems work in an integrated manner, and digital content created during lectures can be shared with students in PDF format as lecture notes upon request. This infrastructure supports the program’s objectives of digital literacy, technology-supported learning, and the effective use of aviation simulations. Classrooms provide secure internet access, enabling access to online academic resources, aviation databases, and digital materials. Through remote access infrastructure, licensed simulation software and analytical programs can be used in courses; attendance processes are conducted digitally through both manual and card reader systems.

Students of the Aviation Management program benefit from the facilities of the Istanbul Aydın University Library / Information Center. The library offers comprehensive printed and electronic resources in aviation, logistics, business, and management fields, including books, academic journals, e-books, databases, and sectoral reports, which are accessible both on campus and remotely. Library services are carried out within the framework of the Istanbul Aydın University Library Directive and the Regulations for the Use of the Information Center.

Within the university, there are physical and technical infrastructures designed to support applied education in aviation management and logistics. In this context, classrooms structured for aviation simulations, flight management, and aviation operations applications, as well as computer-supported learning environments, are available. Additionally, the Aviation Simulation and Application Laboratory, which enables flight simulations, airline operations management software, and aviation data analysis applications, is included in the university’s infrastructure.

Access is provided to international databases such as EBSCOhost, ProQuest, JSTOR, Emerald, ScienceDirect, OECD iLibrary, and Statista in the library. All resources can be accessed 24/7 via katalog.aydin.edu.tr. This infrastructure contributes to instructors supporting course content with up-to-date international literature and enables students to develop their research, data analysis, and sector-oriented knowledge competencies. Faculty-based book lists are also shared for informational purposes.
