Purpose and Content

The aim of the course objectives of conservation, its historical development, the values that must be protected, basic principles in detection, the evolution of the protection concept and conservation organizations, As a whole, protection of environment and site conservation issues are handled
Course Content Evaluation of architectural heritage in Turkey, the classification of cultural and natural values that must be protected ,the implementation terminology and methods of protection and restoration issues are considered.

1objectives of protection and its historical development
2values need to be kept and basic principals for these values’ determination
3evolution of protection concept and the theories of the IX. century with contemporary scientific theories, institutes and foundations related to protection
4protecting a site or environment as a whole
5chronological evaluation of structural heritage that composes historical environment in Turkey
6classification of natural and cultural values that should be protected
7application terminology and methods of protection and restoration
8concept of memorial, memorial and structure groups, factors threatening memorials
9mid-term exam
10principals and methods of intervention to spatial values that exist on the scale of city and historical centre
11classification of protection techniques
12basic principles for institutes and foundations related to protection
13problems,theories and application links related to protection in our country.
14Final exam
