Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The objective of this course is to provide students with competence in three-dimensional (3D) modeling of machine parts, assembly operations, and the creation of standard-compliant technical drawings for production by teaching widely used parametric solid modeling software (SolidWorks). It aims to develop the students' skills in designing within a virtual environment and visualizing their designs.
Course Content SolidWorks interface and basic menus; Creating two-dimensional sketches and geometric constraints; Three-dimensional solid creation commands (Extrude, Revolve, Sweep, Loft); Editing operations on solid models (Hole Wizard, Fillet, Chamfer, Shell, Mirror); Assembly module, mating conditions, and retrieving standard machine elements from the library; Creating exploded views of assemblies; Deriving technical drawing views from parts and assemblies, sectioning, and dimensioning operations.
