Infrastructure & Facilities

The Istanbul Aydın University Department of Recreation provides a modern and technologically sophisticated infrastructure designed to support students in both theoretical and practical educational processes. The program's physical assets comprise classrooms at the Florya Campus, specialized laboratories, multi-purpose sports halls and external application areas supported by strategic sectoral collaborations.

 

Laboratories and Technical Equipment

The program offers various laboratory facilities to ensure that students can effectively utilize information technologies and specialized tools specific to sports sciences:

  • Computer Laboratories: Equipped with high-speed internet and specialized software, these labs are available for Information Technology courses and student practicums. Additionally, the university library provides dozens of fully equipped workstations for student use.
  • Health Sciences Laboratory: In line with academic requirements and to support scientific research, the department utilizes the extensive infrastructure of the university's Health Sciences Laboratory.

     

    Studios and Specialized Study Areas

    Specific areas are designated to support the digital, communicative and artistic dimensions of the curriculum:
  • Online and Communication Studios: These facilities are actively used for distance education processes, blended learning applications and the production of digital academic broadcasts.
  • Drama Hall: A dedicated space that provides the necessary physical conditions for courses such as Drama I and II.
  • Massage Room: A specialized facility designed to conduct applied massage therapy courses according to professional standards.

     

    Practical Areas and Sports Facilities

    A wide array of on-campus and off-campus facilities is utilized for recreation education:
  • Fitness Centers: Located at the Florya and Bahçelievler campuses, these centers are available between 08:00 and 21:00 for both structured courses and individual athletic activities.
  • Multi-purpose Sports Halls (Blocks A and T): These halls feature standard-sized courts for basketball, volleyball, handball and tennis, serving as venues for both curricular courses and university team training.
  • Multi-purpose Mirrored Hall: Specifically designed for rhythm education, dance and other group-based physical activities.
  • Silivri Research and Application Campus: This center provides the logistical and equipment support necessary for outdoor and adventure education, including camping and trekking.
  • Table Tennis and Orienteering Areas: Table tennis facilities are available in Block T, while the open areas of the campus and surrounding regions are utilized as practical zones for courses such as orienteering.

     

    Off-Campus Practical Venues

    For specific facility requirements not available on-campus, the following venues are utilized through protocols signed with strategic external stakeholders:
  • Tennis: IBB Florya Sports Facilities.
  • Football: Küçükçekmece Municipality Yeşilova Kemal Aktaş Stadium.
  • Swimming: Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Swimming Pool.

     

    Library and General Educational Spaces
  • Library and Information Center: Spanning 10,500 m² with a capacity for 3,500 people, the center operates 24/7. It provides access to 1,191 up-to-date print volumes in sports sciences and an extensive database of electronic resources.
  • Classrooms and Auditoriums: The Florya campus hosts 271 classrooms and auditoriums of varying capacities, ensuring optimal planning based on student enrollment numbers.

Academic Offices: Well-equipped faculty offices are located on the -3rd floor of Block T to support the research and administrative activities of our academic staff.
