The Journalism Program places great importance on the active participation of students in both administrative and academic processes. To this end, a student representative for each class and a general program representative are elected by the students at the beginning of each academic year. Student groups working within the Istanbul Aydın News Agency (İAHA) take an active role in the planning and execution of program activities.

High-participation student meetings are held regularly within the program, where students' course requests, academic and sectoral needs, and event proposals are discussed, and feedback is systematically collected. Students take direct responsibility for the planning and implementation of events organized within the scope of the program; this interaction makes a significant contribution to the continuous development of the curriculum and departmental activities.
