The Political Science and International Relations (Turkish) Program at Istanbul Aydin University has a structured system of sector collaboration and practical training (internships) designed to strengthen students' professional competencies and enable early interaction with working life. Through a mandatory three-term workplace practice integrated into the curriculum, students gain the opportunity to apply the theoretical foundations and analytical skills acquired during their undergraduate studies directly within public institutions, private-sector organizations, and relevant professional fields. These practices contribute to the development of key professional skills—such as problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and the effective use of digital tools—within real working environments, and systematically support the acquisition of qualified work experience prior to graduation.
On-site practice and optional internship processes are conducted in a transparent, traceable, and well-planned manner through digital platforms by the relevant academic and administrative units of the university. In line with established sector partnerships, students are guided toward institutions and organizations that align with their interests and career goals. Student feedback is collected each term through regularly administered internship and on-site practice evaluation surveys; the resulting data are analyzed by the department and relevant centers and used to continuously improve practice-based learning processes.
This integrated structure enhances the program's alignment with labor market expectations, facilitates students' transition to employment after graduation, and contributes to the education of graduates equipped with the competencies required by the public sector, private sector, and related professional fields.
