Infrastructure & Facilities

At Istanbul Aydın University, classroom planning is centrally coordinated by the IAU Planning Unit at the beginning of each academic semester. Classrooms are allocated based on student enrolment numbers, course characteristics, and pedagogical requirements, ensuring appropriate capacity and suitability. This centralized approach guarantees that classroom allocation is based on objective, transparent, and efficient criteria rather than individual or ad hoc decisions. Classrooms are air-conditioned, benefit from natural lighting, and are furnished with ergonomic furniture designed to support both individual study and group-based learning activities.

All classrooms are equipped with modern educational technologies. Each classroom includes smart lecterns with internet-connected touchscreen computers, integrated sound systems, and high-resolution projection infrastructure. This technological setup enables instructors to deliver digital course materials effectively, use multimedia applications, and implement technology-enhanced teaching models. Once classrooms are assigned, systems are automatically synchronized, allowing instructors to connect mobile devices to smart lecterns and deliver wireless presentations. Smart lectern and digital board systems operate in an integrated manner, and digital content produced during lectures can be shared with students as course notes upon request. Secure internet access is available in classrooms, enabling access to online academic resources and licensed software such as SPSS during classes. Attendance is recorded through both manual and digital systems. (Fotoğraf 48-49-50)

Within the scope of the programme, BISTLAB (Borsa Istanbul Application and Analysis Laboratory) has been established to strengthen education in financial markets and applied finance. BISTLAB has been designed to enable the analysis of financial market data, the teaching of capital market practices, and the simulation-based experience of real market dynamics by students. Classroom branding applications have been completed in line with the university’s institutional standards, with white and off-white colours preferred in the physical design of the laboratory space. In addition, Matrix data infrastructure accounts have been obtained, user access has been provided, and the BIST-S installation has been completed under the coordination of the University’s System Operations Directorate. BISTLAB is actively used as a key infrastructure component supporting the practice-oriented teaching objectives of the Economics and Finance (English) Programme and its sector-integrated education approach. Students of the programme benefit from the facilities of the Istanbul Aydın University Library / Information Center. The library provides extensive printed and electronic resources in economics, finance, accounting, business administration, and law, including books, academic journals, e-books, databases, and sectoral reports. Access to these resources is available both on campus and remotely. Library services are conducted in accordance with the Istanbul Aydın University Library Directive and the regulations governing the use of the Information Center. Electronic resources include international databases such as EBSCOhost, ProQuest, JSTOR, Emerald, ScienceDirect, OECD iLibrary, and Statista, all of which are accessible online 24/7. This infrastructure supports instructors in enriching course content with up-to-date international literature and contributes to the development of students’ research and analytical competencies.
