Message from the Head of the Program

Our department is a newly established academic unit founded with a clear vision to deliver high-quality, contemporary, and internationally oriented psychology education. From its inception, the department has been designed to respond to current scientific developments and the evolving needs of psychology students in a global academic context.

Our department aims to provide students with a strong foundation in psychological science while fostering critical thinking, ethical awareness, and scientific curiosity. Through a curriculum grounded in contemporary psychological theories and research methods, we support our students in understanding human behavior from biological, cognitive, emotional, and social perspectives.

The Psychology (English) program is designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. In addition to core psychology courses, students are encouraged to actively engage in research activities, develop academic writing and presentation skills in English, and gain hands-on experience through internships and applied training opportunities. Particular emphasis is placed on scientific literacy, evidence-based thinking, and cultural sensitivity in psychological practice.

Graduates of our department can work as psychologists in various public institutions, particularly within the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Justice, as well as in educational institutions and the private sector. In the private sector, they may be employed in areas such as human resources, research, and service fields including advertising, public relations, marketing, media, and market research. Specialization in clinical psychology and other health-related fields, as well as the provision of psychotherapy, requires the completion of graduate-level education either in Turkey or abroad. In this context, our graduates can shape their academic and professional careers by specializing in diverse subfields such as clinical, industrial and organizational, developmental, health, cognitive, social, and forensic psychology.
