The articles of the Istanbul Aydın University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulation, published in the Official Gazette No. 32237 on July 3, 2023, regarding horizontal transfer, vertical transfer, double major and minor are as follows:
Inter-University Transfer
ARTICLE 18-
(1) Student admission and registration through horizontal transfer from domestic, international and university-level associate and undergraduate higher education programs to the university's undergraduate and associate degree departments/programs are carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation. a) The maximum study period of a student transferring horizontally to the same department or program is calculated by taking into account the year the student registered at the higher education institution they came from. b) The maximum study period of a student transferring horizontally to a different department or program is calculated from the year the student registered at our university, without taking into account the time spent at the higher education institution they came from.
(2) Students transferring horizontally or vertically are exempted from courses taken at their previous university that are equivalent to the courses in the program they are transferring to, by a decision of the relevant board of directors. The grades obtained in these courses are entered as equivalent in the transcripts (under the definition of Transfer Compulsory TZ, Transfer Elective TS) and included in the calculation of the overall grade point average.
(8) If the education in the department to which the transfer is to be made is in a foreign language, the student must pass the proficiency exam administered by the Istanbul Aydın University School of Foreign Languages or possess an internationally valid foreign language proficiency certificate that meets the requirements for exemption from foreign languages as stipulated in the Istanbul Aydın University Associate Degree-Bachelor's Degree Education and Examination Regulations. Students who cannot meet these requirements must attend and successfully complete a foreign language preparatory education program.
Double Major and Minor Programs Purpose
ARTICLE 40- (1) Students who successfully complete an associate/bachelor's degree program may be granted the right to continue in a second associate/bachelor's degree program. A second program that a student is allowed to pursue outside of their registered major program is called a double major associate/bachelor's degree or minor program. The implementation principles for double major associate/bachelor's degree and minor programs are determined by the Senate within the framework of the relevant legislation. https://www.aydin.edu.tr/tr-tr/ogrenciler/yasa-yonetmelikler/Documents/cift_anadal.pdf
ARTICLE 6-(1) Students wishing to enroll in a double major program must apply to the department where they wish to pursue the double major with a form application, transcript, ÖSYS score printout, and a document indicating that they are within the top 20% in the success ranking (to be obtained from the Student Affairs Office). Students enrolled in programs where the language of instruction is Turkish who wish to apply to a double major program where the language of instruction is a foreign language must submit exam result documents showing that they have obtained a sufficient score in national or international exams conducted by the University's School of Foreign Languages or whose validity is accepted by the University, during the application process.
Placement of Students Dismissed Due to Failure in the Compulsory Foreign Language Preparatory Class into Turkish-Taught Higher Education Programs
Article (1) Students who have been admitted to undergraduate and associate degree programs where the language of instruction is entirely or partially (at least 30%) a foreign language and who have been dismissed due to failure in the compulsory preparatory class may apply. Students who have been dismissed for reasons other than failure, such as absenteeism, cannot apply.
Article (4) Students who have been admitted to undergraduate programs based on ÖSYS/YKS results and who have been dismissed due to failure in the preparatory class may be placed in Turkish-taught undergraduate or associate degree programs of their choice (provided they also meet the other conditions specified in this guide), regardless of the field, provided they have sufficient scores in the score type of the program they wish to choose. Those who have the right to transfer without examination may also use this right in placement in associate degree programs.
