The Preschool Teacher Education Program at Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Education regards establishing a sustainable, multidimensional, and interaction-based relationship with its graduates as one of the core components of the program’s quality assurance and continuous improvement processes. In this regard, communication with graduates, the collection of feedback, and graduate tracking activities are carried out systematically both at the institutional level and specifically within the program.
To maintain regular communication with graduates, digital communication networks (WhatsApp groups) have been established, through which graduates are informed about employment opportunities, professional development activities, academic announcements, and current updates related to educational programs. These networks also enable graduates to share experiences among themselves and to foster professional solidarity.
In order to encourage graduates’ contributions to program development and to obtain practice-based feedback from the field, regular alumni meetings and talks are organized. Within this scope, an alumni meeting was held on 1 February 2024, bringing together teachers and administrators who graduated in different years with current students. In addition, at events titled “Teaching from the Perspective of Graduates” and “From Dreams to Reality: The Inspiring Journeys of Our Graduates,” held in previous years and on 5 December 2024, graduates shared their experiences regarding the transition into the profession, school climate, career development, and employment opportunities. The presence of graduates serving in managerial positions provides students with role models and contributes to the development of professional networks.
The opinions and suggestions obtained from graduates are used as an important source of data in the evaluation and improvement of the program’s teaching and learning processes. This feedback is integrated into decision-making processes related to the updating of course content, the strengthening of practical training processes, and the enhancement of graduate competencies.
