Students are among the fundamental stakeholders of our faculty and program, and their participation in decision-making processes, as well as the reflection of their views and feedback in the institutional structure, are considered priority objectives. Accordingly, students’ active involvement in academic, administrative, and social processes is supported through student representation and feedback mechanisms.
Student representatives elected at the faculty level serve as key actors in conveying students’ opinions, requests, and suggestions to the administration. In this context, measures have been taken to enhance the active participation of student representatives in Faculty Board meetings. In fact, the faculty student representative attends the Faculty Board meetings held once a month and directly shares views aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning processes.
Through regularly held faculty student representative meetings, programs are informed about students’ academic and social needs, the challenges they encounter, and their expectations. The feedback communicated in these meetings is evaluated, and the decisions taken and practices developed are communicated back to students as feedback.
In addition, announcement and feedback mechanisms for students are actively operated through UBİS (University Information System), which is used across the university. Through UBİS, students are able to submit their opinions, requests, and suggestions and regularly access information related to academic and administrative processes. This system transforms student–management interaction into a continuous, accessible, and traceable structure.
All these practices demonstrate the adoption of a student-centered management approach; they strengthen students’ sense of belonging to the institution while contributing to the creation of an inclusive, transparent, and sustainable environment of engagement in decision-making processes.
