Faculty Overview

The mission of our Faculty of Pharmacy is to educate pharmacists who uphold ethical values and are capable of assuming responsibilities throughout the entire process from pharmaceutical research and development to the monitoring of rational and effective drug use while contributing to national and international scientific advancement and providing scientific consultancy to institutions related to pharmaceuticals and pharmacy. Our faculty consists of three departments, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Professional Sciences, and Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences along with eight affiliated divisions. Each division is staffed by distinguished faculty members who are experts in their fields, have completed their doctoral studies in pharmacy faculties, and have extensive academic experience. Our curriculum is designed in accordance with Bologna criteria and the national core pharmacy curriculum, aiming to graduate pharmacists recognized both nationally and internationally. The first two years of education include foundational courses and introductory professional courses. Students continue with theoretical and laboratory-based professional courses throughout their studies. During the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years, students complete summer internships; and in the 5th year, they undertake internships during the academic term in community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, or pharmaceutical and cosmetic production facilities. Our internship guidelines have been prepared in alignment with the core internship training program. The location of our faculty on the same campus as the Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Medicine Hospital allows hospital internships and clinical pharmacy training to be carried out effectively.
