Aims & Scope

The primary objective of this program is to educate highly competent pharmacists who are capable of assuming responsibilities across all stages of the pharmaceutical lifecycle, starting from drug research and development and extending through production, licensing, distribution, and the monitoring of rational drug use. In line with this objective, the program aims to continuously enhance the quality of undergraduate and graduate education and to sustain these programs in accordance with international standards. Another key goal is to cultivate strong academics who are capable of producing high-quality and original research, thereby contributing significantly to the scientific community and increasing the institution's international visibility and recognition. Strengthening university–industry–public sector collaborations and promoting solution-oriented approaches to societal challenges through social responsibility projects, with the aim of fostering university–community integration, also constitute fundamental objectives of the program.

In accordance with these goals, the program seeks to educate competent pharmacists who can apply their acquired knowledge and skills for the benefit of society, as well as to expand students' opportunities to participate in national and international exchange and scholarship programs. It is planned to establish clinical pharmacy training programs within university-affiliated hospitals and to guide senior-year students toward one of the following career paths in line with their professional goals: community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, or industrial pharmacy.

Furthermore, the organization of national and international congresses and the обеспечение of their sustainability are among the program's objectives. Through multidisciplinary and internationally collaborative research, the program aims to increase the number of publications in nationally and internationally indexed journals. Continuous improvement of the research infrastructure, along with the development and support of university-funded and externally funded research projects, is also prioritized. In addition, the program aims to offer continuing professional education programs for community pharmacists, public institutions and organizations, and pharmaceutical industry professionals, as well as to conduct public outreach and awareness activities that reach all segments of society in the field of healthcare. Developing collaborations with the pharmaceutical industry, providing consultancy services to the sector, and contributing scientifically to the transition of the Turkish pharmaceutical industry from generic drug production to original drug development are also among the core objectives of the program.
