Istanbul Aydın University was established by the Anatolian Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV) under Law No. 5656 (Additional Article 73), published in the Official Gazette dated May 18, 2007, and numbered 26526. The Faculty of Dentistry and Dental Hospital of Istanbul Aydın University began its operations at the Bahçelievler Campus in the 2011–2012 academic year. As of January 2014, activities have continued at the Florya Campus; in 2018 at the Büyükçekmece Campus; and since 2020 at the Esenyurt Campus.
The faculty continues to provide services through clinics with a total of 203 dental units across eight departments, as well as a Prosthodontics Laboratory, Orthodontics Laboratory, Manipulation Laboratory for preclinical training, Plaster and Acrylic Laboratories, and a Simulation (Phantom) Laboratory.
In addition to undergraduate education, doctoral programs are offered in six departments in cooperation with the Institute of Graduate Studies. Alongside the Turkish program initiated in 2011, an English program was launched in the 2020–2021 academic year. The faculty graduated its first students in 2017.
