About the Faculty

Our University Faculty of Dentistry is a dynamic and innovative academic unit that conducts education, research, and healthcare services through a holistic approach. Continuous educational and research activities carried out across all disciplines are supported by our academically strong staff, who embrace a culture of quality and a high sense of responsibility.

At our faculty, high-standard oral and dental healthcare services are provided in line with contemporary technology and scientific methods, with a patient-centered approach that prioritizes patient rights, ethical principles, and patient satisfaction. In addition, our faculty aims to educate dentists who embrace universal values, use knowledge effectively, conduct research, question information, and think analytically. Our students graduate as individuals who contribute to public health, equipped with lifelong learning awareness and prepared for science- and technology-oriented professional development.

Dental education at our faculty is offered in two separate programs: Turkish and English. Students admitted to the English program who successfully pass the language proficiency exam begin directly in the first year; those who do not meet the required level attend the English Preparatory Program. The dental education program lasts five years in total, consisting of three years of preclinical foundational training followed by two years predominantly focused on clinical practice.

Preclinical education is conducted in the faculty building located at the Florya Campus and includes basic medical sciences, professional theoretical courses, and intensive practical laboratory training. Our students have the opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty members in modern phantom and preclinical laboratories. In the second semester of the third year, students attend clinical settings at the Esenyurt Campus as observers, gaining firsthand experience of clinical workflow.

In the fourth and fifth years, students transition to clinical practice training and gain professional experience by treating patients in clinics located at the Esenyurt Campus. Education is carried out within the Departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontology, and Prosthodontics, while theoretical courses continue concurrently with clinical training. Under faculty supervision, clinical students perform patient examinations and treatment planning, applying treatments using up-to-date techniques and modern materials.
