Aims & Scope

Objectives
1. To educate dentists equipped with fundamental medical knowledge covering dental education, research, and patient care; possessing advanced clinical skills; able to follow and question innovations; committed to lifelong learning and self-improvement; internalizing ethical principles such as non-maleficence; and aware of their professional responsibilities.
2. To train professionals capable of effectively managing diseases, anomalies, and deficiencies of the oral cavity, teeth, gingiva, supporting tissues, and maxillary and mandibular bones, as well as all components of the stomatognathic system.
3. To develop individuals with strong treatment-planning skills who utilize evidence-based data through both intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.
4. To cultivate ethically responsible individuals who contribute to society by supporting their professional development with knowledge from deontology, behavioral sciences, and related disciplines.

Scope
1. To advance students with up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of dentistry.
2. To encourage students to engage in continuous education and research activities, thereby fostering future scientists.
3. To strengthen students’ ability to evaluate the quality, reliability, and validity of information they acquire.
4. To prepare students for lifelong, science- and technology-oriented education.
5. To enhance students’ ability to establish differential, preliminary, and definitive diagnoses by correlating patient history findings with clinical, radiological, and other diagnostic examinations related to patients’ medical, oral, and dental conditions, supported by contemporary dental knowledge.
6. To promote an interdisciplinary perspective by enabling students to participate in intra- and interdisciplinary teamwork in various branches of dentistry and to seek expert consultation or refer patients when medical or dental treatments exceed their knowledge and skills.
7. To educate dentists who respect patient rights and ethical principles and provide oral and dental healthcare services to society at the highest standards.
