Activities

As part of our social contribution, we participated in mathematics activities with our students at the April 23rd Children's Festival, hosted by the Beylikdüzü Municipality on April 23, 2025.
Associate Professor Dr. Duygu Özdemir, a faculty member in our Faculty's Mathematics Education Program, published her article, "From Which Aspects Do Differentiated Tasks Nurture Mathematically Gifted Students?" in the Journal of Advanced Academics, listed in the Q1 category on Scopus, on March 29, 2025.
The book "Special Education," which includes a chapter titled "An Overview of Diagnostic Models and Types of Dyscalculia Individuals: Mathematics Solutions Through Play," co-authored by Assoc. Professor Dr. Duygu Özdemir and her fellow students, was published by Nobel Publishing House.

- Students from Florya Işık Middle School, Florya ERA College, Bahçelievler Bil College, and Ataşehir Bil College participated in the "Mathematics Games Tournament," organized for the third time this year in collaboration with students in the Out-of-School Learning Environments in Mathematics Teaching course. The tournament was held on April 11, 2025, at the Istanbul Aydın University T Block Sports Hall.

- Under the leadership of Istanbul Aydın University's Faculty of Education, in collaboration with the Anadolu Culture and Education Foundation (AKEV), Kangaroo Mathematics, and Caribou Mathematics, the "Mathematics and Education Festival" was organized at the IAU Nurdağı Education and Life Campus in the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep from February 3rd to 14th, 2025, for approximately 1,200 students from 2nd to 7th grades affected by the earthquake. The festival, run by students of the Primary School Mathematics Teaching Program under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Özdemir, a faculty member of our faculty's Primary School Mathematics Teaching Program, aimed to enable students to concretize their mathematical knowledge and learn through fun and innovative methods, thereby positively influencing their interest, motivation, and achievement in mathematics. The festival featured four main workshops with the themes of "TÜBİTAK Mathematics Games," "Spormatik," "Caribou and Technological Mathematics Games Workshop," and "Kangaroo Mathematics Games."

The "World Mathematics and Pi Day Event" organized by the 3rd grade students of the Primary School Mathematics Teaching Program and the Mathematics Education Club was held on March 13, 2025, at the T Block Sports Hall of the IAU Social Sciences Campus with the participation of BİL College students and teachers.

On March 25, 2025, an international webinar titled "Innovations in Mathematics Education" was organized with participants from South Korea, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy, and the USA. International Interdisciplinary Special Education Congress, Congress Partner, December 2024
