At Istanbul Aydın University Center for Disability Studies, our fundamental approach is to address disability not only in terms of individual differences but also within the context of environmental, social, educational, and attitudinal conditions that influence equal and effective participation in society.

We believe that creating an accessible and inclusive society requires an interdisciplinary approach extending from education and employment to technology, architecture, sports, arts, and social policy. For this reason, our Center places particular emphasis on scientific research that brings together different disciplines, practice-oriented projects, and national and international collaboration.

Our objective goes beyond raising awareness of disability. We seek to transform scientific knowledge into practical and sustainable solutions that create tangible benefits for society. In this context, we work together with our students, academics, public institutions, local authorities, civil society organizations, and national and international partners.

We envision a society in which persons with disabilities are active stakeholders in decision-making and implementation processes, differences are recognized as a natural part of society, and everyone can participate equally in education, employment, and social life.

As Istanbul Aydın University Center for Disability Studies, we will continue our work in scientific research, education, project development, collaboration, and contribution to society in line with these principles.
