Disabled Student Unit

List of Concrete Facilities Provided to Students with Disabilities Based on Their Disability Types

1) Accessible Campus projects are ongoing, with implementation in each newly constructed building.

2) Course planning takes students' disability groups into account.

3) Meetings are held at the beginning of each semester in the Disability Unit, and efforts are made to ensure students' active participation in activities held at the center and at the university.

4) Accessibility support is available to students with disabilities upon request.

5) To better understand hearing-impaired students and to avoid difficulties in one-on-one communication, a faculty elective sign language course has been introduced. A sign language specialist is available at the disability unit and center to facilitate comfortable communication with hearing-impaired students.

6) An audiobook project has been launched in our library to convert course materials for visually impaired students into audiobooks.

7) Draft guidelines covering current and future work for all disability groups have been prepared.

8-) Students with special needs who experience visual or hearing difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dystonia, etc., are provided with a single-person exam with an invigilator upon request.

9-) Part-time or volunteer student support services are available for students with special needs, as needed, to assist with their studies, based on student request.

10-) To ensure smooth access to university facilities, students with mobility impairments are granted access to the available elevators.

11-) Additional scholarship support is provided to students with special needs upon request.

12-) Students with special needs are supported in taking advantage of Erasmus opportunities abroad, and this is coordinated with the Erasmus Unit Coordinatorship.

13-) A "Health Survey" is administered to all students, including students with disabilities, at the beginning of each academic term.

14-) A "Disaster Management Plan" has been prepared for students with disabilities and their families. Training is provided for students with disabilities each academic year.

15-) Students with disabilities are supported in arranging internships and job placements.

16-) Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to participate in the activities of the disability unit and student clubs to facilitate their socialization.

17-) Social Service Specialist support is provided, including the preparation of private meeting spaces for students with disabilities.

18-) Portable induction loop systems are provided for individuals with hearing impairments.

19-) Orientation training is provided at the beginning of each academic year.
