Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The main purpose of the on-site application activity is; The aim is to enable students to reinforce the knowledge, skills and competencies they have acquired during their education by applying in the sector in a field they are interested in, and to gain work experience, and thus to facilitate their adaptation to business life.
Course Content	Activities related to on-site implementation; On-site Application Coordinatorship is planned and executed together with the advisors of the student's institution and the official at the workplace where the on-site application is made. These activities include learning and application activities for students to gain practical experience by taking part in the studies carried out in their fields, depending on a work environment where on-site application is made. At the end of the on-site application activity, the student submits a written report to the department or program to which he/she is affiliated, which will be prepared in accordance with the “On-Site Application Directive” of IAU and approved by the workplace where he/she has applied on-site.

Learning Outcomes

To follow the technological developments in the field of vocational and work practice,
To know professional competence and responsibilities, to have the consciousness of the rules and the professional ethics.
To have knowledge about the basic visual devices as well as lenses, contact lenses and low vision devices,
Providing best choices and helping the user to select the most appropriate product (contact lenses, frames...), prepare them according to the prescription and provide the user's adaptation,
To be able to measure the ophthalmic lenses by lensmeter and spherometer and contact lenses and to make their settings for mounting,
To use the machines, devices and equipments about preparation of eyewear,
To have knowledge of basic optical instruments,
To have general knowledge of basic mathematics, chemistry, physics I, physics II and geometrical optics,
To have basic knowledge about eye, the anatomy of eye and vision health and eye diseases, to have basic knowledge about public health, human anatomy and physiology.
To use hospital automation systems, general and professional software programs,
Adopting the importance of lifelong learning and vocational training, courses, seminars, symposia, panel discussions and be able to be broadcast by following the self-conscious development,
Considering the health and safety measures related to the profession and making first aid in extraordinary situations,
To be able to work Interdisciplinary with a sense of social responsibility and can be an entrepreneurial individuals
To use computer programs efficiently in the octicianry field,
Having the ability to use Turkish grammer and foreign language,
Self-conscious awareness of an individual be able to be developed as a social and cultural,
To have knowledge and ability about administrative responsibility for the management of vocational enterprises,
Knowing the basic epidemiological concepts and to use these concepts appropriately at the professional applications,
To establish healthy relationships with partners and customers,
The student follows regularly training programs for professional and personal development.
The person follows the current events about opticianry sector.
The person goes with the national and international developments in relation to opticianry.
The person knows that health care institutions, to understand the health services organization in Turkey and location of their own discipline within the organization,
The person communicates with patients and patients' families properly.
Competence in the workplace privacy and patient confidentiality issues.
Competence in the access to information and technology and the use of these in one's field of health.
The person has the information about health sector.

Weekly Course Subjects

1	Completing the bureaucratic procedures between the institution and the university where the On-Site Application will be made.
2	Completion of student orientation.
3	Conducting a basic level study in the field.
4	Taking responsibility as a team member to solve unforeseen complex problems encountered in applications related to the field.
5	Evaluation of basic level knowledge and skills acquired in the field.
6	To be able to carry out activities within the framework of a project.
7	Identifying and meeting the learning needs related to the field.
8	Establishing the relationship of the lessons taken with the applications and meeting the problems encountered in the applications with the lessons taught in the program.
9	Midterm Exam Week
10	Use of information and communication technologies together with the computer software required by the field.
11	Transfer of thoughts at the level of basic knowledge and skills on subjects related to the field through written and verbal communication
12	Sharing ideas and solutions for problems related to the field with experts.
13	Being able to follow the information in the field and communicate with colleagues by using a foreign language.
14	Preparation of reports for the solution of problems that may be encountered in practice.
