Purpose of the Faculty: The Faculty of Sports Sciences was established to conduct high-quality
education and research activities in the field of sports sciences, to promote a culture of research from
undergraduate level onwards, to cultivate individuals with high professional competence, a strong
sense of social responsibility and commitment to ethical values, and to provide scientific support for
the contribution of sport to social, cultural and socio-economic development.
Education and Teaching Objectives
1. To offer educational programmes that integrate scientific knowledge, practical skills and ethical
values in the field of sports sciences.
2. To integrate a culture of research into the education and teaching processes from the
undergraduate level onwards.
3. To develop students' analytical thinking, problem-solving, leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
4. To continuously update educational programmes in line with national and international
accreditation standards.
5. To promote digitalisation and innovative teaching methods (application-based learning, projectbased learning, field studies).
6. To equip students with the professional competencies required by the global sports ecosystem and
graduate them accordingly.
Research Objectives
1. To produce innovative, interdisciplinary and application-oriented research in the field of sports
sciences.
2. To ensure the active participation of undergraduate, master's and doctoral students in the
research process.
3. To establish research groups and thematic areas of study within the faculty.
4. To increase the number of projects supported by national and international research funds.
5. To direct academic outputs in a manner that supports the transformation of knowledge into
products and applications.
6. To conduct research in the field of sports science that is sensitive to ethical principles and
sustainable development goals.
