Purpose of the Faculty
The Faculty of Sports Sciences was established to conduct high-quality education and research
activities in the field of sports sciences, to promote a culture of research from undergraduate level
onwards, to cultivate individuals with strong ethical values, high professional competence and a
developed sense of social responsibility, and to provide scientific support for sport's contribution to
social, cultural and socio-economic development.
Academic Fields of the Faculty
The Faculty of Sports Sciences conducts education, training, and research activities in the following
fields:
• Physical Education and Sports
• Sports Management
• Coaching Education
• Recreation Within these fields, the faculty carries out interdisciplinary academic studies on sports
education, sports organisation and management, training sciences, recreational activities, physical
activity and healthy living, sports performance, and the social impacts of sports.
Social Contribution Goals
1. Develop projects focusing on the impact of sport on public health, quality of life and social
integration.
2. Strengthen partnerships with public institutions, sports organisations, NGOs and the private
sector at local, national and international levels.
3. Conduct educational, seminar and practical activities that share knowledge in the field of sports
science with the community.
4. Undertake work that promotes sustainable development and social awareness through sport.
5. Encourage students to take an active role in social responsibility projects.
6. Contribute to the development of science-based policies and practices in the field of sport.
