Infrastructure & Facilities

Istanbul Aydın University Department of Recreation provides its students with a modern and technologically well-equipped infrastructure in both theoretical and practical training processes. The physical facilities of the program consist of classrooms at the Florya Campus, specialized laboratories, multi-purpose sports halls, and off-campus practice areas supported through sectoral collaborations.


Laboratories and Technical Equipment

The program offers various laboratory facilities that enable students to effectively use sport sciences–related equipment and information technologies.

Computer Laboratories:
Within the scope of Information Technologies courses, computer laboratories equipped with internet access and necessary software are available for students’ practical work. In addition, dozens of fully equipped computers are provided for student use in the university library.

Health Sciences Laboratory:
In line with the requests of academic staff, the university’s Health Sciences laboratory infrastructure is utilized to support course content and to conduct scientific research.


Studios and Specialized Practice Areas

Facilities allocated to support the digital and artistic dimensions of education include the following.

Online and Communication Studios:
The university’s online and communication studios are actively used for distance education, blended learning practices, and digital broadcasting activities of academic staff.

Drama Hall:
A drama hall that provides appropriate physical conditions for courses such as Drama I and II included in the curriculum.

Massage Room:
A dedicated massage room is available to conduct applied massage courses in accordance with professional standards.

Practice and Sports Facilities

A wide range of on-campus and off-campus facilities are used for recreation education.

Fitness Centers:
Located at the Florya and Bahçelievler campuses, these facilities are available for both courses and individual exercise between 08:00 and 21:00 on weekdays.

Multi-Purpose Sports Halls (A and T Blocks):
These halls meet standard court dimensions for sports such as basketball, volleyball, handball, and tennis, and are used for both courses and university team training sessions.

Multi-Purpose Mirrored Hall:
Specifically designed for rhythm education, dance, and similar group activities.

Silivri Research and Practice Campus:
This center, along with transportation and equipment support provided by the university, is used for outdoor activities such as nature and adventure education, camping, and trekking.

Table Tennis and Orienteering Areas:
Table tennis areas are located in the T Block, while the campus open spaces and surrounding areas are utilized for courses such as orienteering.


Off-Campus Practice Areas

For specific facility needs not available on campus, the following venues are used within the framework of protocols established with strategic external stakeholders:

Library and General Educational Facilities

Library and Information Center:
With an indoor area of 10,500 m² and a capacity of 3,500 users, the library operates 24/7 throughout the week. It provides access to 1,191 up-to-date printed books in the field of sports sciences and an extensive electronic database.

Classrooms and Lecture Halls:
A total of 271 classrooms and lecture halls of various capacities are available at the Florya Campus, and course scheduling is planned according to student numbers.

Academic Offices:
Fully equipped offices for academic staff are allocated on the -3rd floor of T Block within the faculty building.
