In the physical education teaching program, in addition to the basic branches such as football, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, swimming, and gymnastics, training is also provided in different sports branches within the scope of elective courses.

Yes. Our students receive practical training in our university's sports halls, indoor/outdoor fields, and laboratories. They also gain direct experience in a school environment through teaching practice.
11. Is there a special aptitude test for admission to the department?
Yes. To enter the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department, you must first take the TYT (Basic Proficiency Test). After obtaining a sufficient score on the TYT exam, admission to the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department is done through the Special Aptitude Test (ÖZYES) administered by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). This exam consists of tests that measure the candidates' physical abilities, and you must pass them. Additionally, there is usually a ranking threshold of 800,000 for the department, meaning you need to pass the exam and be within a certain ranking. Following the aptitude test, placement is made according to the department's quota, considering both your TYT score and your physical performance.
12. What is an optional preparatory class?
At Istanbul Aydın University, students taking the English Proficiency Exam (İYS) are admitted to departments that offer English-language education. Those who pass this exam can directly start their departmental courses, while those who fail can optionally attend a one-year preparatory class. The preparatory class offers an intensive training program to improve language skills, and successful students can transfer to their departments after the preparatory class.
13. What is ECTS and how many ECTS credits are required for graduation?
ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) is a credit system that measures the total workload of a student in a course. One ECTS credit represents the total study time a student spends on a course and is generally equivalent to 25-30 hours of study. At Istanbul Aydın University, 30 ECTS credits are taken each semester, and a total of 240 ECTS credits are required for graduation. This generally means taking 60 ECTS credits each year for a 4-year undergraduate program.
