Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	To have knowledge about gas turbine engines used in today's passenger aircraft and to be able to practice on their maintenance and repair. Have knowledge about gas turbine engines and can practice on aircraft maintenance and repair.
Course Content	Gains knowledge of Starting / Starting and Ignition Systems, Engine Indicator Systems, Turbo-prop Engines, Turbo-shaft Engines, Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), Power System Installation, Fire Protection Systems and Engine Monitoring / Tracking and Ground Operation.

Learning Outcomes

Having knowledge about basic working principles and functions of all kinds of (mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, etc.) components and systems used on airplanes.
Recognize the materials used on airplanes.
Recognize the mechanical and electrical system / parts working principles of aircraft.
Know the atmosphere properties and the effect on the planes of change in the atmosphere.
Recognize airline documents used for maintenance, repair and navigation on airplanes.
Know the formation of lift force and flight theory on airplanes.
Having information about the propellers in the piston engine planes.
Know human factors and error prevention methods in terms of aircraft maintenance and repair.
have information about maintenance of gas turbine and piston engine aircraft.
Has knowledge interpretation of aircraft collected on malfunction and maintenance.
Has knowledge about Trouble shouting Manual
Has knowledge location of indicating system on cockpit
Know aircraft-aircraft, aircraft-ground communication methods and systems.
making simple electrical circuit setup.
Using tools in aircraft maintenance can be used.
Recognizes the materials used on airplanes.
Know the tools / tools’ elements used in aircraft.
Solve the all mechanical and electrical problem.
It uses technological equipment (measurement, control instruments and test equipment) for aircraft maintenance, repair and testing.

Know the applications related to propeller maintenance, operation, storage and protection.
Explains the knowledge and skills of aircraft, as well as the technological developments to the people and groups it serves, and conducts team work
