The Mechanical Engineering (Turkish) Undergraduate Program at Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Engineering aims to educate research-oriented and innovative engineers who possess a strong foundation in mathematics and natural sciences and can effectively use modern technologies and engineering tools.
Although the language of instruction is Turkish, the program aims to enable students to follow international literature and gain globally competitive competencies. The department seeks to graduate individuals who uphold professional ethics, think critically, and embrace lifelong learning.
The curriculum provides a solid infrastructure in which theoretical knowledge is supported by laboratory studies, capstone projects, and internship applications. The program is designed to specialize students—particularly with a focus on Computer-Aided Engineering applications—in the following core areas:
Design and Manufacturing: Manufacturing methods, nanotechnology, robotics, and mechatronic systems.
Energy and Thermodynamics: Thermal systems, energy conversion, engines, combustion, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
Mechanical Systems: Machine dynamics, vehicle technologies, control systems, and transport phenomena.
Distinctive features of the program include a quality assurance system supported by regular student and graduate surveys, strong industry collaborations, and feedback mechanisms in which graduates actively contribute to program improvement.
