Program Overview

The Turkish Language Teaching Program was established in 2012 with the aim of training Turkish language teachers. The program began accepting students in the 2012–2013 academic year, and student quotas are determined each year by the Higher Education Council (YÖK). The program operates at the Halit Aydın Campus, T Block, Istanbul Aydın University. The Turkish Language Teaching Program has 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 3 doctoral faculty members, and 2 research assistants. 

The program's fundamental academic approach is to train contemporary and scientifically minded teacher candidates; its distinguishing feature is to equip students with sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical skills, taking into account current and field-oriented needs in the field of education. In this regard, the program aims to develop teacher candidates' subject knowledge, pedagogical competence, and professional skills with a holistic approach; it aims to support the theoretical foundation with practice-based studies so that graduates can make a strong and wellequipped start to their professional lives.
