The results of the “1st HALİT AYDIN SCIENCE AND RESEARCH AWARDS COMPETITION” organized by the Istanbul Aydın University Center for Social Research and Application (TARMER) have been announced. On December 23, 2015, the last meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. M. Sâim YEPREM, Director of the TARMER Center; Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çağrıcı, Prof. Dr. Ali Köse, Prof. Dr. Kenan Gürsoy, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Arslan, Prof. Dr. Necat Birinci, and Dr. Necdet Subaşı, announced the winning entries in the competition. The evaluation jury deemed the work titled “Turkey's Immigrant Entrepreneurs: Reasons for Coming, Stories of Establishment, and Values,” written by Prof. Dr. Dilek Zamantılı Nayır, a faculty member at Marmara University's Faculty of Business Administration, worthy of first place. With this work, which examines “The Impact of Migrants on the Turkish Economy,” Nayır has contributed an important source work to Turkish and global literature, while also shedding light on future research in this field.
The evaluation jury awarded the jury special prize to the work titled “The Effects of Globalization and Welfare State Practices on Multiculturalism Policies: An Application Using Pooled Data Technique” written by Assistant Professor Dr. Şerife Önder and Assistant Professor Dr. Hüseyin Önder. Dr. Mustafa AYDIN, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Aydın University, emphasized the importance of progressing under the enlightening light of science as an indispensable element of our country's development and announced that the “1st HALİT AYDIN SCIENCE and RESEARCH AWARDS WORK COMPETITION” will be held every two years based on this fundamental objective...
