The aim of the center is to research and examine the cultural structure of the society in which it is located based on scientific data, to identify the interaction between various cultures throughout history, to observe the roles of factors such as beliefs, language, religion, and race in this formation, and to conduct academic studies and research in order to reveal the effects of philosophical-intellectual, ideological/political, scientific, historical, technological, and similar social trends in the contemporary world, to disseminate the resulting products to society through scientific and cultural events such as seminars, symposiums, and conferences held at the university, and thus to ensure that the resulting free thought and knowledge accumulation are disseminated in the broadest sense along with universal values.
In this context, TARMER's primary mission is to “carry out activities aimed at recognizing and promoting the culture and social structure we live in within the framework of scientific data” and, at the same time, to “contribute to universal peace by revealing the interaction between different cultures in our society.”
Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and discuss both the examination of our own culture and social trends, their accurate recognition and promotion, and the fundamental problems in the social sphere (declining literacy rates, the breakdown of the family structure, rising divorce rates, the failure to establish equal opportunities in education, unemployment, social polarization, increasing tendencies toward violence in society, etc.) are analyzed, as well as revealing the interaction between different cultural structures that represent a wealth of diversity. This comprehensive approach to social services is the fundamental mission of TARMER.
