FIRST SECTION

Purpose, Scope, Basis, and Definitions

Purpose

ARTICLE 1 – (1) The purpose of this Regulation is to regulate the procedures and principles regarding the purpose, fields of activity, governing bodies of the Istanbul Aydın University Industry 4.0 Application and Research Center, established under Istanbul Aydın University, and the duties and working procedures of these bodies.

Scope

ARTICLE 2 – (1) This Regulation covers the provisions related to the purpose, fields of activity, governing bodies, duties of the governing bodies, and working procedures of the Istanbul Aydın University Industry 4.0 Application and Research Center.

Basis

ARTICLE 3 – (1) This Regulation is prepared based on subparagraph (2) of paragraph (d) of the first clause of Article 7 and Article 14 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 dated 4/11/1981.

Definitions

ARTICLE 4 – (1) In this Regulation:

a) President: President of the Istanbul Aydın University Board of Trustees,

b) Advisory Board: The Advisory Board of the Center,

c) Industry 4.0: The monitoring of physical processes in modular smart factories through cyber-physical systems, digitalization of objects to communicate with each other and with humans, communication in product development, production and service processes, real-time data exchange between machines and products, autonomous control, and optimization,

ç) Center (IAU-Industry 4.0): Istanbul Aydın University Industry 4.0 Application and Research Center,

d) Director: Director of the Center,

e) Board of Trustees: Istanbul Aydın University Board of Trustees,

f) Rector: Rector of Istanbul Aydın University,

g) Senate: Senate of Istanbul Aydın University,

ğ) University: Istanbul Aydın University,

h) Administrative Board: Administrative Board of the Center.

SECOND SECTION

Purpose and Fields of Activity of the Center

Purpose of the Center

ARTICLE 5 – (1) The purpose of the Center is to produce smart solutions related to supply chain applications that enable communication between production systems brought by Industry 4.0 for Istanbul Aydın University faculty members, research assistants, and students, to share the results with the scientific community and the public, and to engage in necessary training, publications, and other activities.

Fields of Activity of the Center

ARTICLE 6 – (1) In line with its purpose, the Center carries out the following activities:

a) Conduct research activities related to Industry 4.0,

b) Organize promotional activities related to Industry 4.0,

c) Prepare and manage projects within the scope of Industry 4.0,

ç) Transfer knowledge and culture related to Industry 4.0 to industrial organizations,

d) Collaborate and carry out projects with sectors where Industry 4.0 technologies are intensively used,

e) Use and operate University resources in accordance with its purposes,

f) Provide scientific and technical consultancy to relevant institutions,

g) Establish science centers related to the subject within the University, ensure their operation, and cooperate with other relevant institutions.
