Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course is to enable students to integrate and reinforce the basic professional knowledge and skills acquired in previous semesters with their knowledge and practical skills related to electrotherapy, physical agents, and massage in a real working environment; and to actively participate, under supervision, in patient preparation, preparation of appropriate equipment, safe implementation of physiotherapy applications, and monitoring of patient responses.
Course Content The course covers preparation of the patient and treatment environment in the physiotherapy unit; observation of basic assessment findings; preparation and safe use of electrotherapy devices; electrode selection and placement; superficial and deep heating agents and cold applications; preparation for massage applications and basic massage techniques; assistance with exercise practices; monitoring patient responses during applications; consideration of contraindications and safety precautions; and post-application organization, documentation, and communication within the healthcare team.
