Horizontal transfer is a practice that allows students to transfer from one higher education program to
another. According to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) legislation, horizontal transfer; It is carried
out in three different ways: intra-institutional horizontal transfer, inter-institutional horizontal transfer
and horizontal transfer with central placement score (Additional Article-1). While it is possible to
transfer within the institution between programs within the same university, inter-institutional transfer
takes place between different universities. In transfers with central scores within the scope of
Additional Article-1, the score obtained by the student in the year of placement is taken as basis.
The education period of a horizontal transfer student is calculated by taking into account the time spent
by the student in the higher education institution from which he/she comes. The transfer student is
exempted from the courses taken at his previous university that are equivalent to the courses in the
program to which he transferred, by the decision of the relevant board of directors, and is given a T
grade. The GPA of students who come to associate and undergraduate programs through horizontal
transfer is calculated based on the courses they have taken in the associate and undergraduate
programs at Istanbul Aydın University.
Students are accepted to the Software Development program for horizontal transfer, vertical transfer,
double major and minor programs according to the quotas determined every year. Student admission
and registration for horizontal and vertical transfers are carried out in accordance with the "IAU
Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations" published in the official gazette
dated 10 November 2014 and numbered 29171.
