Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course is to examine the accounting practices within the framework of the uniform accounting system and to introduce the basic concepts of accounting, the generally accepted accounting principles that direct the accounting practices in this regard, to provide the uniform chart of accounts and its operation with examples.
Course Content Definition and objectives of accounting, uniform accounting system, accounting system and subsystems (parts of accounting), functions of accounting, users of accounting information, basic concepts of accounting, the concept of account in accounting, definition and form of account, classification of accounts and operating rules. Recording tools in accounting. Recording methods in accounting, rules and stages of double entry method. The concept of balance sheet, definition and types of balance sheet, balance sheet principles, basic balance sheet equality, the effect of financial transactions on balance sheet, examples that provide basic balance sheet balance, preparation of start-up balance sheet, journal entry, ledger entry, regulation of monthly balances. The functioning of the asset accounts (current and fixed asset account items), the functioning of the resource accounts (short term liabilities, long term liabilities, equity account items). The concept of income statement, principles of income statement, types of income statement, arrangement of income statement. The income and expense groups (period expenses) in the income statement and the operation of the accounts in these groups. Cost calculations (7 / A and 7 / B options). Definition of opening records, opening records in newly established enterprises, opening records in long-standing enterprises. End of term accounting applications, inventory concept, valuation concept, end of period records.
