Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic concepts of communication law, to comprehend the link between fundamental rights and freedoms and the field of communication and to gain knowledge about intellectual rights.
Course Content	Course content; The definition and scope of freedom of communication, regulation of communication freedom in Turkey and related legislation, the definition and scope of intellectual property rights, regulation and legislation of intellectual property rights in Turkey.

Learning Outcomes

Students have the professional field knowledge about integrated marketing, integrated marketing communication and advertising.
Students have sufficient theoretical knowledge in the field of advertising.
Students know the relationship between the target audience and the creation of advertising messages.
Students know advertising campaign processes and strategies for all communication environments.
Students will be able to know media planning and purchasing strategies for all communication environments.
Students will be able to know data literacy, research methods and techniques that will be used to create strategies in advertising.
Students know the legal regulations and ethical values in the field of communication and advertising.
Students will be able to know national and international institutions, associations and professional organizations operating in the field, legislation and quality standards of these institutions
Students know current presentation techniques and presentation in the field of communication and advertising.
Students analyze the economic, social and psychological reactions of the society and create advertising messages.
Students create advertising messages based on audience and communication environment
Students plan and execute the advertising strategy and campaign according to the different advertising characteristics of all communication environments.
Students apply the legislation and quality standards of national and international institutions, associations and professional organizations and act in accordance with ethical rules.
Students observe, analyze and reflect consumer behavior in their work.
Students create a project using current presentation techniques.

3	The problem of press freedom in Turkey and current examples of these legal regulations related to the press in Turkey, the rights of employees and employers, professional organizations and media issues
4	Historical background, importance and problems of press regime
5	Radio-television regime, historical background, importance, problems
6	Cinema and video regime, historical background, importance, problems Internet regime, historical background, importance, problems
7	Social responsibility, ethics and law in these regimes Media and legal environment, media and public order concepts
8	Midterm
9	History of intellectual property rights Intellectual and copyright concepts
10	Characteristics and types of ideas and works of art Work, ownership and right to work
11	Scope of intellectual rights: material and moral rights Limits of the author's right-protection periods
12	Intellectual property rights in international law (WIPO-TRIPs, etc.)
13	Intellectual property rights and new technologies (creative common / open acess) Internet and intellectual property
14	Overall assessment of Literary and Artistic Works Act and of intellectual property rights in international law in Turkey
