FOREIGN TRADE (ENGLISH) CAREER STORIES
BAŞAK BOZKURT
I'm Başak Bozkurt. I enrolled in the Foreign Trade (English) Department at Istanbul Aydın University in 2019. I learned a great deal in this department and had many opportunities to improve myself. In the EU Funds course, we developed the "Minİst" project for the Istanbul Development Agency. In this project, we developed modern technological solutions to Istanbul's traffic problems with our young entrepreneurial friends who graduated from the computer engineering department and presented them to local officials in a successful presentation. I graduated with the DGS (Diploma Entrance Exam) and am currently pursuing my studies in the International Trade and Finance (English) Department at Istanbul Aydın University.
IHSSANE HAOUMI
I started to study Foreign Trade (English) at Istanbul Aydın University in 2019 as an international student. Thanks to the curriculum of the program. While I was still studying, I had the chance to learn faster because I had the opportunity to work in a company engaged in international trade. The I am currently working in a company that provides international distributorship for brands and deals with the import and export of companies.
KADER KIZILAVUZ
I'm Kader Kızılavuz, a 2019 graduate of Istanbul Aydın University's Department of Foreign Trade and Engineering. No matter how challenging the conditions, I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit. What is being an entrepreneur? It's about thinking freely. It's about dreaming. It's about making your dreams come true. First, I installed electrical installations in Kızılavuz, and I worked on large-scale projects, and we succeeded as a team. The Ataşehir Water Garden on the Anatolian side of Istanbul is one of the projects we completed as Kızılavuz Elektrik. Later, I established Çınardere milk and dairy products, the brand and patent of which I own, throughout Turkey. I started in retail sales. Then I asked myself, "Why aren't I in production?" and now I'm producing with 40 bees in the village of Karaçavuş in the Hozat district of Tunceli. My goal is to produce Çınardere honey and expand into international markets. With the income generated, I will ensure personal and regional development and achieve high profits. Our greatest asset is our intellect, experience, and youth.
SAMUEL PETERS
As a young boy I have always dreamed of becoming a successful person in the area of international trade. After the high school, I started up my own small business. With the money I collected from this business, I ventured into overseas where I pursued a career in foreign trade in Istanbul Aydın University. The university made my dream come true. I benefitted from the ERASMUS program which helped my enlightenment and business ideas. Right now I am in France doing what I love the best, that is exporting cars and electronics to Africa. And all this was made possible by the Istanbul Aydın University.
YİĞİTCAN AKAR
I started the Foreign Trade (English) Program at Istanbul Aydın University in 2020. I met Bortek Pipe and Plumbing Technologies during a summer internship during my freshman year, and thanks to my passion and determination, I started working full-time. During my sophomore year, I worked afternoons and attended evening classes, reinforcing the knowledge I acquired at work and applying it to my work. My successful performance in 2022 significantly contributed to our company's ranking among Türkiye's top 1,000 exporting companies. Upon graduation, our export representative left the company, and I became Export Manager. I currently work at the same company.
