Istanbul Aydın University is the first foundation university in Türkiye to hold EFAD membership

İstanbul Aydın University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics adopts a student-centered educational approach that integrates the theoretical foundations of nutrition science with practice and research through its undergraduate and graduate programs. The Undergraduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics aims to train dietitians who are capable of planning, implementing, and evaluating nutrition services for the protection and improvement of individual and public health, as well as for disease prevention. The curriculum is structured to encompass basic nutrition sciences, clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and professional practice.
In addition to the undergraduate program, the Department offers Master’s programs in Nutrition and Dietetics (with thesis), Nutrition and Dietetics (non-thesis), Sports Nutrition (with thesis), and Sports Nutrition (non-thesis), as well as a PhD Program in Nutrition and Dietetics.
The Department’s educational approach is implemented in alignment with national and international quality assurance frameworks. İstanbul Aydın University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics has signed an Education Associate Membership agreement with the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) and holds the distinction of being the first foundation university in Türkiye to become an EFAD member. Furthermore, following the evaluation process conducted by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Health Sciences Education Programs (SABAK), the program has been granted accreditation valid between 20 March 2024 and 30 September 2026. All programs are carried out with a continuous monitoring and improvement approach in line with national core curricula and quality assurance standards.
