In the talent exam, candidates are required to memorize and present to the jury two monologues selected from classical or contemporary plays in Theatre Literature and one poem selected from the poem list available on the Drama and Acting department’s web page.
The exam consists of 2 stages.
STAGE I:
Stage I consists of three exams.
General Knowledge Exam: This is a multiple-choice test designed to measure the candidate's general knowledge and theatre knowledge.
Voice and Ear Exam: In this exam, the candidate is expected to demonstrate the basic auditory and vocal skills required for acting training and the profession. Exercises will be conducted to measure the candidate's voice, ear, and rhythm abilities, and to reveal the quality of their voice. In this exam, accompanied by a piano, the candidate will be asked to repeat single notes, double notes, melodies, and rhythmic patterns, and to sing a song or folk tune they know.
Stage Performance Exam: This is an elimination stage. In this exam, the candidate performs a monologue chosen by the jury and reads the poem they have previously prepared. Candidates are required to memorize and present to the jury two monologues selected from classical or contemporary plays in Theatre Literature and one poem selected from the poem list available on the Drama and Acting department’s web page.
Important Notice:
The Stage I exam begins with the General Knowledge exam. Candidates who do not take this exam lose their right to participate in the other exams in Stage I.
