Medical Laboratory Techniques
The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program at the Vocational School of Health Services aims to train technical personnel who will conduct chemical analyses, provide routine services, participate in research studies, and personally implement all techniques used in these studies in primary clinical biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, and molecular biology laboratories. It also aims to train qualified personnel to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical industry, private department laboratories, university and institute research laboratories, and companies that produce or market medical laboratory equipment.
Our Medical Laboratory Techniques Department aims to become a leading academic program by combining the high-standard education it provides with a technological infrastructure and quality assurance.
Important Information
Students' workplace training, practical training, and internships will be conducted in accordance with the principles and procedures determined by the Council of Higher Education.
Graduates of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program receive an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Techniques, and those who successfully complete this program will receive the title of "Health Technician" (Medical Laboratory Technician).
Upon graduation, the courses and modules demonstrating the competencies gained during their studies will be listed in the diploma supplement.
If a student withdraws from the program before completing it, a document indicating the courses and modules demonstrating the competencies gained during their studies will be issued.
This program accepts students based on the YGS-2 score.
The program offers a second term.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of this program will have the opportunity to work in public and private medical laboratories; in the pharmaceutical industry; in private department laboratories; in university and institute research laboratories; and in companies that manufacture or market medical laboratory supplies.
Candidates who successfully complete their associate's degree can continue their undergraduate education in the following programs:
· Biology
· Nursing and Health Services, using the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
