Purpose and Content

The aim of the course At the end of this course, the student will learn the statistical processes and techniques required for statistical analysis and interpretation, apply different correlative relationship search techniques, apply the statistical decision-making process, and make predictions about the parameter using statistical estimation.
Course Content This course is designed to provide students with theoretical and applied information on how statistical package programs for social sciences (eg SPSS) are used for data entry and analysis, and how data analysis is applied to sociological research. The course focuses on basic statistical concepts and methods; First of all, the creation of data files, coding, input or conversion of data will be emphasized. It will focus not only on how to transfer the data to the SPSS program, but also on how to avoid some very common mistakes in the creation and coding of the data. Secondly, in this context, students will be able to decide on error checking, data transformation, labeling and measurement levels. Thirdly, they will come to a level where they can analyze, interpret and present using simple statistical techniques with the help of computers.
