Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The relation between language and society will be studied. The changes in a language can be explained by analyzing the changes in the speech community and in the culture of that society. We aim at raising the awareness of the students on these changes.
Course Content How changes within the society are reflected in the language will explained examples from Turkish will be given. The changes in the society as well as in technology advances bring the necessity of forming new words.
