Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Shows that religion is not static but changing. Indicates that religion, has a power on culture, society, institutions and ideologies.
Course Content Does a sociological analysis from primitive religions to today.

Weekly Course Subjects

1The definition of religion sociology and its place in social sciences.
2The origins of the sacred image: primitive religions.
3Sociology religion with theories and theoricians (Max Weber and others)
4Anthropology religion with theories and theoricians (Bronislaw Malinowski and others).
5Egypt, Iran, Indian, Chinese and Japanese religions.
6Judaism and Christianity religions.
7Exam. Bourdieu: Alan içerisinde egemen dinlerin sermayeleri oluşturması. Yüklü Dosya Bulunmamaktadır 14 Genel tekrar.
8Religion in Islamic societies.
9Religion: Conflict and assembly space.
10Gramsci: religions and hegemony.
11In terms of modernization religion and change.
12Victor Turner: Rites and social acceptance.
13Bourdieu: dominant religions which constitutes capital in the domain.
