Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To learn technique to create knitted fabrics, knit’s technical drawing, to recognize the fabrics and to produce knitting fabrics at hand knitting machines.
Course Content The objective of this course is to present significance of knitting in Turkish textile sector. Accordingly, the differences among basic knitting techniques and the difference between weft and warp knitting, knitting machines and their properties, designing techniques in weft knitting and knitting techniques (e.g. horizontal knitting, cross knitting etc.) are taught during the semester.

10Plat design techniques, hemstitch pattern technique. Fully Fashion technic.
11Knitted fabric analysis, technical drawing, needle syntax, steel syntax.
12Basic patterns in single plated circular knitting machines.
13Basic patterns in the double-plated circular knitting machines.
14Knitted fabric errors. General information about knitting socks technology
