Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The course is intended to provide a general concept in the dimensions of disasters caused by nature beyond the human control as well as the disasters and environmental hazards induced by human activities with emphasis on disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
Course Content Categories of disasters - natural and manmade, Geo-informatics in Disaster Management- Remote Sensing (RS), Demonstration of Earthquake Evacuation Drill, Demonstration of Fire Drill

1Introduction on Disaster Different Types of Disaster : A) Natural Disaster: such as Flood, Cyclone, Earthquakes, Landslides etc
2B) Man-made Disaster: such as Fire, Industrial Pollution, Nuclear Disaster, Biological Disasters, Accidents (Air, Sea, Rail & Road), Structural failures(Building and Bridge), War & Terrorism etc. Causes, effects and practical examples for all disasters.
