Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course is; to understand the properties and functions of central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems and to distinguish the dysfunctions that may develop as a result of the dysfunctions of these neuroanatomical structures.
Course Content	This course covers the following topics: 'Introduction to the Central Nervous System', 'Gross anatomy of the Medulla spinalis', 'Internal structure of the medulla spinalis', 'Descending pathways, ascending pathways', 'Peripheral nervous system pathologies', 'Gross anatomy and internal structure of Medulla Oblangata ', 'Gross anatomy and internal structure of PONS', 'Mesencephalon', 'Cerebellum', 'Diencephalon', 'Basal ganglions', 'Cerebral cortex', 'Cranial nerves', 'Blood circulation, membranes, hemispheres of CNS' and ' Brain Spinal Fluid'.

Learning Outcomes

All graduates can assess and plan physiotherapy and rehabilitation protocols by using quantitative and qualitative principals and concepts in physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
All graduates apply physiotherapy and rehabilitation program by using further level knowledge and skills with in the order of systematically and safely ethic rules; finish or change treatment protocols if necessary
Creates protective / improving physiotherapy programs for healthy people
Gains the ability to use current apparatus and equipment safely in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and follows current developments in this field.
Can use computer, statistics, information and communication technologies as required by the field
All graduates have innovative behavior to protect public health; contribute to produce health politics for the changing and varying necessities on physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
Maintains personal development and lifelong learning; contributes quality improvement, educational and promotional programs related to the field; exhibits professional behavior at the international level.
Can use at least one foreign language in order to follow current treatment approaches and academic advances
Behave fairly and equitable to their patients and counterparts within the framework of ethical principles and professional responsibility
Communicates effectively with patients and the other disciplines at every stage of the study, ensures a coordinated execution of teamwork
Can make evidence-based scientific research and can follow developments in order to contribute the development of the physiotherapy profession.

1	The basic features of the peripheral nervous system and the functions of the plexuses.
2	Clinical signs and symptoms seen in the functions and pathologies of the peripheral nervous system.
3	Functions and pathologies of Medulla Spinalis.
4	Meninges, cerebrospinal fluid circulation and pathology, brain arteries and veins anatomical features.
5	Functional areas of cerebrum, cerebral functions and pathology of cerebrum.
6	Brain artery-vein pathologies and clinical features.
7	Functions of the structures that make up the diencephalon and clinical features of their pathologies.
8	Limbic system and its pathologies.
9	Midterm.
10	Brain stem and cerebellum functions and clinical features of their pathologies.
11	Descending-ascending pathways, their functions and clinical features of their pathologie
12	Clinical features of the functions and pathologies of the autonomic nervous system.
13	Clinical features of cranial nerves and their pathologies.
